Description
TKL is awesome, and the web site appliance search is OK, but you really need a plainer all-in-one appliance list. I create one by screen-scaping the site (ugly) and post-processing in Perl to come up with these columns, and it's immensely useful:
Appliance | Short Description | URL | Long Description | Tags | App #
I find it much easier to convince someone how awesome TKL is using that simple matrix (in a spreadsheet) than via the relatively cluttered tiny sub-sets of the list you can see on the web. A trivial single-page drop-dead simple HTML table (which can then also be copy&pasted into a spreadsheet) would do the trick.
This is useful for:
- Import into a spreadsheet to show to the suits in something non-scary (suits love spreadsheets :)
- Online perusal without having to click and load pages
- Offline perusal
- grepping
- groking the overall scale and scope of the project all at once
