Adding a new component doesn't create the translations

Describe the issue

When adding a new component, it doesn't create translatable strings for each language. I have to manually click on + on language.

I already tried

• I've read and searched the documentation.
• I've searched for similar filed issues in this repository.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

• Create a couple of languages for a project
• Add a new component
• The languages list is empty (beside the source language)

Expected behavior

All languages which are created in the project have strings to translate for this component.

The translations are created in the background so it might take some time. Or are there any errors in the log that would indicate it has failed?

They are never created, where can i find the logs?

In the meantime I solved it by creating empty stub files for each language in each component and delete them again on package build. But would be good if this can be solved properly.

Perhaps the language consistency add-on would do what you want? The initial description is a bit unclear to me.

Looks like that is it. Just wondering why this is not a core functionality.

It has to be opt-in because it can be very disruptive for larger projects with divergent or inconsistent languages across components.

We have a guidelines page that suggests turning it on, but it is shown when creating a component when most people ignore it, and nobody navigates to it later. This is IMHO an area that deserves improvement: #9553
