Recently, the WebView lane in Windows CI has been taking too much time to run (approximately 3 hours) and eventually gets cancelled. Upon further investigation, it appears to be an Appium driver issue.

To confirm this, I created a native WinUI sample with the WebView2 (native) control. While inspecting it using Appium Inspector, Appium was unable to recognize the WebView. It keeps loading for some time and then displays an error, as shown below.
Note : This appium error occurs on the native webview windows app also.

To confirm this, I created a native WinUI sample with the WebView2 (native) control. While inspecting it using Appium Inspector, Appium was unable to recognize the WebView. It keeps loading for some time and then displays an error, as shown below.
🐞 bug: In Windows, Appium does not connect to the app when the app has WebView2 appium/appium#22217
Note : This appium error occurs on the native webview windows app also.
