No Progress Bar In Safari

According to some tests, file uploads work fine in Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

But there is an issue in Safari. There is no progress bar. It only updates the status to 'complete' once the file upload is complete. The progress bar is present in Chrome and Firefox.

Could you please help to solve the issue? Thanks in advance

Was looking at this earlier today. I think it is an issue with safari...

I wrote a file uploader a year ago that uploaded directly to rails - https://github.com/stakach/Resumable-Uploads
That definitely had a working progress bar for safari (which is now also not working in the production app the library was built for)

If you look at the screenshot above you'll see safari is passing an empty XMLHttpProgressEvent (it's expanded in the screenshot) so I am quite stumped.

In the mean time I'll update the progress for every resumable upload at the completion of each chunk / complete file. So for amazon every 5mb will see the progress and at completion.

Tested this again today and everything seems to work in Safari 6.0.2 (not sure if I ran updates as this was definitely not working for me at some point)
Please re-open if you are still having issues and provide the Safari version + build number

Thank you for taking a look. I tested today on Safari 6.02. And the progress bar doesn't advance.
The status changes to complete once the upload is done.

Although the progress bar works fine on the last versions of Chrome and Firefox.

Could you please help to fix this? Also is there an option to display the total number of bytes that have been uploaded in the progress bar?

Tested again and I am not seeing the progress, this is doing my head in.

Ok, I can replicate the results every time!

1. Open safari and load an instance of condo uploader
2. Quit safari
3. Open safari (it'll re-open the uploader as it restores state)
4. Try and upload something using condo
   • The progress doesn't show
   • Any other upload site visited after that is also broken (whether it be the same tab, a different tab or a new tab)

However if you use any upload site other than Condo then Condo works every time with progress displaying as it should (steps 1 -> 3 then testing another site before step 4)
