Harddrive file not found after reboot of host

I keep my .vdi file on a different partition from the VirtualBox executable and Home folder on Ubuntu. Virtualbox cannot find this file after I reboot the host computer (Ubuntu). I have to open VirtualBox, delete the red hard disk entry, close VirtualBox, rerun VirtualBox, and then rechoose the .vdi file on the other partition. It does remember the file location in-between host (Ubuntu) reboots. My workaround works but should probably not be required. Thanks.

Sounds like the path to the partition is different after a reboot which wouldn't be a VirtualBox issue, and without any VBoxSVC.logs we can't even confirm this.
