When Discord e. g. gets an update, BetterDiscord is not launched, and you have to reinstall it.

Describe the solution you'd like
An "Inject" option in the installer that starts BetterDiscord.

A BetterDiscordStartup.exe file that you can double-click to start BetterDiscord if it hasn't already started.

Due to the way betterdiscord is installed onto the client, this is not entirely possible. Host updates tend to overwrite the files Betterdiscord modifies to achieve its functionality. This is the case with most, if not all client mods.

I personally found that setting one of Knewest BetterDiscord Install Scripts to run on startup of the system is a good way to insure better discord stays active, is a great way to achieve just that.

I also wanna point out that using third party installers is not always 100% safe. Especially when packed as exe, as it makes it hard to see what its exactly doing. It could be installing malware on your machine. The install script linked above are stored in plaintext, making it easy to see what exactly is happening.

I was gonna suggest adding something like --silent --install --stable --ptb to the installer, so I can write my own script... but honestly launching through an executable that would jut ensure it's installed would be simpler.

These days it's required to reinstall it so often that I end up not using BD for weeks or maybe even months. Then I install it and it's gone in a day or two anyway...

We're tackling this in like 3 different ways.

1. We have our official (albeit not advertised) CLI which can be automated for install scripts
2. This installer is being rewritten to use Wails so the binary will be a much more reasonable size to actually integrate the CLI and make all processes automated
3. BetterDiscord itself is exploring new injection methods that are both cross-platform compatible and less likely to break. (we are also exploring using platform-specific injections but we want to avoid that if possible)

The new cli has been pushed out to cover quick scripting cases. The core team is pursuing a new method for updates that keeps bd injected.
