Since probably 3-4 days ago. The VSCode copilot had became unusable. It becames so stupid. It gives nonesense suggestions

Yes, it has become completely unusable. It's honestly annoying that there is plenty of discussion surrounding so many other complex aspects of Copilot when it has become completely unusable for 4 days. I'm sure they will not refund any paying subscribers for this, and they have absolutely not acknowledged it is happening.

Now it's usable, but become slower. So do you microsoft try to downgrade the model size for save money?

Same here at the moment, [Claude Sonnet 4.5] it was fine before (I would say very good), but something happened and it is complete stupid crap. It required tens of prompts until it did one simple thing right and now my premium requests are gone, so I had to switch to different model - tried GPT 4o, 4.1, 5 mini and it still crap as hell, not sure what is going on.

It is yes. But its still kind of useful. Dont forget to write down the instruction in the copilot-instructions.md file. Now I use grok the most. For planning claude 4.5 and gemini 3 are ok. Gemini 3 seems good but quite slow. The problem now is the context. It reaches the limit after 2-3 prompts

Yep, GPT 4 has become to be literally a complete scam in Copilot! 1 hour of repeating the same mess, where Gemini Flash has solved it in a single command!

I agree. The inbuilt CoPilot service is sloppy makes so many errors (😾) that folks just go with Claude and pay the difference. Microsoft should try to make their base service competitive. If they allow such a low quality tool to be pushed to users they are setting a low standard and will be perceived as low quality.

Co-pilot is very f*cking dumb. It is only suitable for a small tasks. For medium tasks, I need to use Claude.

Just normal auto complete suggestions have become totally useless. This was fine before and really made typing faster.
Now i have to turn it off because it actually makes me slower.
Very frustating, I have to cancel my subscription if this does not improve
